Henderson Police looking for school burglary suspect

HENDERSON, Ky. (WFIE) - Police say someone broke into Bend Gate Elementary school early Saturday morning.

Lieutenant Dan Lehman with the Henderson Police Department tells us that surveillance video shows an unidentified person walking on school property around 3:30 a.m.

Police say the suspect broke a window, went inside, and stole some items.

Police tell us the burglar also broke into a school bus parked on the property.

They are still trying to figure out who that person is and what all they took.

“An unknown suspect broke in through a window into bend gate elementary," said Major Jermaine Poynter. “Made entry of the school and stole a few unknown things, some tools and some other stuff. Like I said at this time we’re investigating, we’re looking into the situation.”

According to the police department, no arrests have been made yet.
