TELL CITY, Ind. (WFIE) - The results are in for the recount for Tell City’s tight mayoral race.
Democrat Chris Cail has been elected the city’s new mayor.
Current Mayor Jim Adams, a Republican, requested a recount in Tell City after coming up short by just two votes to Cail.
“Its just one of those things that you had to know, that there was no mistakes” said Mayor Jim Adams.
A judge appointed a three-person recount panel to review all of the votes Friday. The recount found that no votes were counted incorrectly for the general election in November.
Chris Cail will take office in January, and has been planning for his term as Mayor since election day in November
“Moving forward and getting things done, I want to work on infrastructure, our streets, sidewalks, roads, job growth, and other things like that to make the community a better place” said Mayor Elect Chris Cail.
Both Adams and Cail tell 14 News this race, is one that will be remembered in Tell City’s history.
