Woman rescued after car drifted into ditch in Henderson Co.

HENDERSON, Ky. (WFIE) - A woman in Henderson County was rescued after her car drifted into a ditch.

Henderson County Rescue used their boat to rescue her. Authorities say she drove through floodwaters causing her car to drift into a ditch.

Henderson Rescue Assistant Chief tells us she wasn’t hurt.

Neighbors in the area say when it rains this bad, it’s not uncommon for people to get stuck.

Neighbors say people who live on top of a hill, where they are surrounded by flooding, also get stuck in their homes.

“They’re isolated," said Time Johns, a neighbor. "They’re on top of the hill there’s down by the railroad tracks that water gets deep where it’s impassable and down here at this ditch it’s impassable they’re isolated for a little bit.”

Webster and Ohio counties also had flooding issues today.

First responders want to remind drivers not to drive through waters, but to turn around and go another way.
