City to give $1.5M for North Main apartments project

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - The city council approved a $1.5 million bond Monday night that will go towards building new apartments in the Jacobsville area, according to the Department of Metropolitan Development

Turning the old IGA building into apartments will cost $18.4 million, but taxpayers won’t be affected.

If all goes as planned, developers hope to begin demolition at the beginning of 2020.
