Alcohol a factor in crash on N. Red Bank Road, deputies say

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - A crash on North Red Bank Road, just above Upper Mount Vernon Road, sent two people to the hospital, according to a deputy.

It happened around 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

Deputies say a truck rolled over and snapped a utility pole.

The passenger was able to crawl from the wreckage.

Deputies say the driver, Jake Ladd Wenderoth of Wadesville, was still trapped in the truck and unconscious when emergency crews arrived.

Both Wenderoth and his passenger were taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Deputies say Wenderoth had a serious head injury.

They say preliminary results show alcohol was a factor in the crash.

The road was closed into the early morning hours while crews made repairs to utility service.
