One person killed in Spencer Co. crash

Medical helicopter called to Spencer Co. crash

SPENCER CO., Ind. (WFIE) - One person is dead after a crash in Spencer County.

It happened around 8 p.m. Thursday on State Road 545 near County Road 1300 North. That’s near the Evanston area.

According to the sheriff’s office, a car was heading north on SR 545 when it when off the road, hit a ditch, then came back on the road into the path of a southbound pickup truck.

The sheriff’s office says Hunter Greulich, of Evanston, who was in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other people in the car, Jacob Ninke, of Grandview, and Derek Mulzer, of Evanston, were flown from the scene to an area hospital. There’s no word yet on their conditions.

The driver of the truck, John Korresell, of Cannelton, was also taken to an area hospital and his condition is unknown.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
