Nut Club member hurt after falling off ATV

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - A member of the West Side Nut Club is hurt after falling off an ATV.

It happened on Tuesday during the Fall Festival. The man, according to the crash report, is Grant Johnson, 38-years-old.

Media Representative Eddie Dietz told us members were running errands when Johnson slipped off the ATV behind the main stage and hurt his head.

EPD says the driver of the ATV had alcohol in his system, but he was under the legal limit.

“Something as simple as one sip of beer, that box is going to get checked," explains EPD Sgt. Jason Cullum. "So what we do is standard testing that we would do in any of these cases to try to determine if there is any impairment and at this point, we have not uncovered any signs of reckless driving. There was not an actual collision that was involved. This is an individual that fell out of the vehicle while it was in motion.”

We are working to learn the extent of Johnson’s injury.

Nut Club members said their prayers are with the family.
