OWENSBORO, Ky. (WFIE) - Preparations are underway on for this weekend’s air show.
Planes arrived throughout the day on Thursday at Mid-America Jet. This is where a special event will start the festivities on Friday.
Fans will have a chance to see the planes up close and meet some of the pilots.
Then the high flying fun gets going this weekend.
City officials say more than 30,000 people are expected to come out and watch the shows this weekend.
“I think it’s what people come to air shows for," said Viper Demo Team Pilot Garrett Schmitz. "They want to see cool planes, they want to see them do cool tricks low to the ground, going fast, making a bunch of noise and we kind of check all those containers. So if you come out you’re gonna really enjoy the show I promise.”
Shows start at 1 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday.
