OWENSBORO, Ky. (WFIE) - Students at Brescia University that live at St. Ann’s Residence Hall have been enjoying it since the first week of school a couple of weeks back.
On Thursday, the community got to see it for the first time.
The dorm for upperclassmen students features suite style living, holds 38 students and boasts two large living areas and kitchens.
“That’s something that they really want, that opportunity to get together as a community and I think this space provides that," Brescia University President Father Larry Hostetter said.
Father Hostetter says the addition of the new dorm and other buildings on campus over the last few years has drawn a lot of interest from prospective students.
“Then they get to the real heart of Brescia, which is not our buildings, but our people," he said. "Our faculty, our students, our staff. But those buildings are a great way to get those people through our door.”
Father Hostetter says they have plans to build a similar residence hall like this one in the future as long as the enrollment continues to increase.
