Mt. Carmel robbery suspects arrested after chase, crash with police car

Mt. Carmel, IL. (WFIE) - Mt. Carmel Police say they have arrested four men in an armed robbery investigation.

The robbery happened around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Verizon store on 9th Street.

Police say two men took off in a car with Indiana plates after the robbery.

Officers in Lawrence County found the car on Route 1, and that’s when a chase started.

Police say it ended in Crawford County after the suspects’ car hit a police officer’s car.

Three suspects were taken into custody. One other suspect took off into a tree line, but was eventually found.

The four men arrested in this armed robbery investigation are:

  • Jaylen Davies, 18, charged with armed robbery
  • Dionjahnae Cannon, 20, charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery
  • Anthony Suber, 24, charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery
  • Latrell Coe, 20, arrested on unrelated charges

According to Mt. Carmel Police, Coe was the one who ran from officers after crash. The news release says he was found later on Tuesday in Crawford County.

Police say they found two guns they believe were used in the robbery.
