WEBSTER CO., Ky. (WFIE) - Around 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Kentucky State Police says they received a call from the Webster County Sheriff’s Department about a two vehicle wreck that happened in the 500 block of State Route 109 North.

According to KSP, the preliminary investigation shows that Eduardo Lopez, 23, of Madisonville was driving when he hydroplaned into the southbound lane and collided with another vehicle that had two people inside. Those two were taken to Baptist Health Emergency with non-life threatening injuries.

Lopez and his three passengers, Jorge Chavez, Miguel Brico, and Christina Chavez, all of Madisonville, Kentucky, were pronounced dead at the scene by Webster County Coroner’s Office, says KSP.

KSP says the age of the three passengers are unknown. The investigation is ongoing.

The city of Sturgis announced on Facebook that those four were employees at a newly opened restaurant in Kentucky called Fiesta Acapulco. The restaurant closed early Saturday because of the tragic loss.

KSP is working the case.
