EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Kids from across the Tri-State got to show off their fishing skills Saturday morning.
The Expressway Auto Mall in Mount Vernon hosted the sixth annual Kids Fishing Clinic.
Pro Angler Jimmy Houston was in attendance giving young fishers tips and advice.
Hundreds of prizes were handed out throughout the morning.
Volunteers at the event say this was a fun way to get new fishers out near the water.
“Some of these kids have actually not fished before. We actually had a teammate help a kids catch his first fish ever. It’s pretty cool to see the excitement in that kid’s eye,” said Tanner Curtis of the USI Bass Fishing Team.
Awards were given to those who caught the biggest fish in several different categories.
