EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Officers with the Evansville Police Department were dispatched to the 300 block of Pemberton Avenue in reference to an intoxicated person who got in a car and drove off.
The reporter said the man was driving a red Ford car and had turned onto Mill Road and was heading east.
Officers saw a red car going east on Mill Road and watched as the driver crossed the center line. They also saw the driver go into the westbound lanes will still driving east, before over-correcting and nearly striking a mailbox.
Officer followed until the driver turned into a driveway in the 4000 block of Stringtown Road. Officers then tried to conduct a traffic stop.
According to the affidavit, the driver, when trying to put the car in park, put the car in reverse, almost running into the officers.
The driver, 33-year-old Andrew Macpherson, eventually put the car in park.
And, after a brief struggle, officers were able to place Macpherson in handcuffs.
He was taken to the Vanderburgh County Confinement Center where it was determined his BAC was 0.267.
Macpherson is facing drunk driving charges and resisting law enforcement.
