HENDERSON, Ky. (WFIE) - Henderson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center had some special guests Thursday: puppies.
New Hope Animal Shelter brought some furry friends for the residents to pet and relax with. The center donated beds, toys, treats and made blankets for New Hope.
It’s part of National Nursing Home Week and officials say it’s fun to see reactions from everyone.
“It makes us feel good knowing that our residents are always happy and just seeing the smiles on their faces makes our day," said Kellie Hammer, director of marketing and admissions. "We just wanted to give back. They do so much for us bringing out these animals so we’re just happy to give back.”
Officials are hoping to make this an annual and quite possibly a weekly event for the residents.
