EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - A cold front will dive into warm and humid air over the Tri-State on Sunday. The Storm Prediction Center has highlighted parts of our region for a severe weather risk. Damaging winds and heavy rainfall would be the main threats
Based on Thursday’s RPM model data, we’ll likely see two waves of storms. The early line would roll through around sunrise on Sunday. Even through instability would be lacking at that time, strong winds in the atmosphere could drive a damaging wind threat. The first wave should clear the area by mid-morning.
If skies clear after the first round of storms, another batch could form by the afternoon. Lingering clouds or rain from the morning showers would reduce the severe weather risk in the afternoon. If you have outdoor plans on Sunday, you should have an alternate worked out if storms threaten. Keep an eye on the sky.
