Evansville church opens with new name after renovation

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - An Evansville church is celebrating its grand re-opening under a new name.

North Park Baptist Church on North First Avenue closed in February for renovations. Now, they are back and ready to worship as Community Central Church.

The former church reached out to North Woods Baptist to help them reinvent themselves. Their goal is to create community outreach for every person.

Pastor Bobby Cox said he is excited to welcome returning and new members to their space.

Community Central Church meets on Sunday evenings to plan community efforts, including clothing closets, food pantries, and a ministry helping single mothers.

The church holds worship every Sunday morning at 10:30.
