WARRICK CO., IN (WFIE) - The legal battle continues over a Warrick County woman's death investigation.
Friday, a special hearing was held over Kristy Kelley’s 2014 death records.
Her father, Todd Scales filed a motion to have those files placed in the court’s possession, with only access to him and not the public.
Her father says this would prevent contaminating a jury if the case went to trial in the future.
The judge denied that motion, so when the files are released, they will be public record.
The Sheriffs office has until next Friday to to petition the state supreme court to keep the records sealed.
We talked to Kelley’s father about the decision. We will have that interview for you soon.
