Neighborhood Watch: Reitz Hill Neighborhood Association looks to keep crime down

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - What was once upon a time the Forest Hills Neighborhood Association is now the Reitz Hill Neighborhood Association.

The organization has re-established a presence after several years of dormancy.

I walked the neighborhood with Association President, Doreen Hallenberger. She says crime is already low up the hill and they want to keep it that way by working together.

They also want to maintain real-estate values and speak with a collective voice with the city when necessary.

“My granddaughter, if she goes to Reitz, she’ll be the 5th one in my family to go to Reitz. There’s all kinds of good things going on up here. The football games, you can just tell the energy. I just like the history and I’m learning more about the history of some of these homes too," said Hallenberger.

The Reitz Hill Neighborhood Association meets every third Monday at 6:30 at Forest Hills Baptist Church.

Our own Jeff Lyons will be the guest speaker at their next meeting.

You can look it up on Facebook or on their website here.
