OWENSBORO, KY (WFIE) - A Democratic candidate running for Governor made a stop in Owensboro on Tuesday.
Rocky Adkins addressed a crowd at the Bluegrass Hall of Fame and Museum on Tuesday. He shared a couple of key points of his campaign, including education, access to quality and affordable healthcare and free community college and job training.
Adkins is the minority leader in the Kentucky House of Representatives. He is one of four democratic candidates running in this May’s primary.
Both superintendents of the Owensboro and Daviess County School Districts attended to listen and hear Adkins’ viewpoint on public education.
“To have the superintendents here, I think it shows that they know who’s side I’m on," Adkins explains. “I’m on their side, the superintendents and school teachers, the education community. I’m not just talking the talk, they’ve watched me walk the walk.”
Adkins also had a little fun during the visit:
Kentucky’s primary is set for May 21. The absentee deadline is May 14.
