Neighborhood Watch: Hopkins Co. Sheriff looking for pair of shoplifters

TRI-STATE (WFIE) - The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office says a man and woman walked into the Hanson Walmart on two different dates, April 9 and April 22, and walked out with several electronic devices they didn’t pay for.

They left the store in a Jeep Renegade, possibly a green one.

Owensboro Police Department says this man is their man suspect in a burglary, and he picked the wrong place to steal from.

Investigators say last Wednesday he broke into “On Duty Depot” a security and police supply store on Moseley street just north of East Parrish Avenue in Owensboro.

And a security cameras outside caught him wheeling out a shopping cart full of gear that police, ems, and firefighters use.

A trooper with the Indiana State Police finds marijuana, morphine pills, and more than $3,600 during a traffic stop.

A trooper says he pulled over a driver in a pickup truck for having a defective license plate light just before 3:30 Tuesday morning.

And when the trooper walked up to the truck, he could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle.

When he searched the truck he found a shopping bag fill with nearly a pound of pot, ten morphine pills and a wad of cash.

The driver is 29-year-old Demecio Canchola of Vincennes. He was arrested and taken to the Knox County Jail.
