IHSAA approves football mercy rule

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - The IHSAA announced the approval of a football mercy rule.

This new rule will go into effect this fall. When the point differential reaches 35 points in the second half, the game clock will convert to a running clock with the exception of timeouts, scores and injuries.

The 40 second play clock will remain in effect thru the entire game.
