Crews respond to apartment fire in Evansville

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - Crews responded to a fire at an Evansville apartment complex.

It happened after 6 p.m. Sunday at Liberty Terrace Apartments on Liberty Way.

We’re told the fire was isolated to a single apartment on the second floor.

Two people were taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.

Chief Mike Larson told us the fire is under investigation, but he believes it was accidental.

Three other apartments sustained smoke and water damage causing four people to be displaced. The Red Cross is assisting them.
