MPD: Investigates early morning shots fired

MADISONVILLE, KY (WFIE) - Around 1:54 Sunday morning, officers responded to the area of North Kentucky Avenue and Couch Street in reference to shots fired.

When police arrived, they found a 2010 maroon Camaro that they say was hit several times by gunfire in the parking lot next to the Rosenwald-Smith Cultural Center in Madisonville.

Authorities say several shell casing were found on the scene and within the car.

There were no injuries reported at the scene or at surrounding hospitals.

The Madisonville Police Department was assisted by the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office.

No arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing.
