DAVIESS CO., KY (WFIE) - The name of the man who died in an accident with a semi has been released.
Officials say 39-year-old Christopher Degg, of Clay, KY, died Friday morning.
According to the sheriff’s office, the crash happened around 6 a.m. Friday on Highway 60 East at Hawes Blvd.
We’re told Degg’s pickup truck rear-ended the semi. The sheriff’s office says Degg’s truck then crossed the median and both westbound lanes before coming to a stop in a field off the roadway.
Degg, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to an area hospital where he died, the sheriff’s office says. The semi driver was also taken to the hospital to get treated for minor injuries.
Highway 60 was shut down in both directions while crews worked the scene.
