HENDERSON, KY (WFIE) - Many Henderson residents came together on Saturday to help improve their city.
Dozens came out to the Audubon Kids Zone to help with renovations. The Kids Zone works with impoverished children in Henderson.
This is all a part of the national “City Serve Day” initiative.
Some local churches and the Henderson County High School football team helped install a new basketball court and a community garden.
The director of the kids zone says these renovations will help with what they do on a daily basis.
Volunteers also worked at Jefferson School, Central Academy, South Heights School, and at Marsha’s Place.
