EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - New program at the Academy for Innovative Studies in Evansville.
EVSC has launched the “Innovative Intervention” program. They’re increasing the level of social-emotional support for students and are adding counseling support.
Officials say they will have social-emotional coaches to help students achieve success in and out of the classroom.
It is the first of its kind for the district and officials say they can’t wait to see it in action.
“We’re so excited," Catherine Minihan, Deputy Superintendent for School Support & Accountability, explains. "We know that every single one of our students is important to us and to our community so the fact that we have support from the state board and from our community and our administration here I think is just really exciting as we move forward.”
Officials say school staff will have professional development and training for the innovative intervention program.
