We’ve done lots of stories about police dogs, but you may not have an idea of how much they cost to bring on the force.

The city of Carmi, Illinois is asking for donations from the community so they can get a new police K-9.

CPD’s dog will be retiring soon.

The initial cost for the Canine is approximately $16,500. This includes the dog as well as training for the Canine and Handler.

If you’d like to help, make our your check to the Carmi Police Department K-9 Fund. Drop it off at CPD or mail it to 108 N. Main St. in Carmi.
