TRI-STATE (WFIE) - The Mayor of Evansville, Lloyd Winnecke has declared April 5th, 2019 as War On Hunger Day.
The Mayor says “the Evansville Salvation Army continues to meet the food needs in Evansville and surrounding counties by declaring War On Hunger.”
The Salvation Army fed over 167,000 meals in 2018, and with your donations will be able to continue to serve the demand in 2019.
War on Hunger will take place April 5th. A goal of $60,000 has been set and will be used to stock the Salvation Army food pantry and support the soup kitchen at the Salvation Army, located at 1040 North Fulton Avenue.
You can also purchase food items and deposit it at any of Schnuck’s location or a cash donation may be dropped there as well.
