Traffic Advisory: KYTC plans a work zone along US 60 in Daviess Co.

DAVIESS CO., KY (WFIE) - A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to establish a work zone along a section of US 60 in northeastern Daviess County starting sometime during the week of April 1.

The two-lane section of US 60 near the Maceo community will initially be restricted to one lane in this work zone at Daviess County mile point 29.64.

The work zone along US 60, about a mile east of the US 231 intersection, is to allow maintenance and painting of the KY 334/CSX Railroad Overpass at the north edge of Maceo.

The work zone will initially include one lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by an automated signal for about two to three weeks. Some delays are possible, especially during peak travel periods.

Once the initial round of work is completed, the contractor will be able to work under normal traffic flow. Then once the end of the project nears, another round of one lane traffic will be required.

Motorists should use caution when traveling through the work zone.
