Officials determine reported stabbing to be prank call

DAVIESS CO., KY (WFIE) - Police responded to a report of a stabbing on Chestnut Grove Road.

According to Daviess County Dispatch, they received a call for a stabbing in the 300 block of North Chestnut Grove Road. Daviess County Sheriff’s Office Major Barry Smith tells 14 News the call came from a man claiming he stabbed his girlfriend.

The Daviess County Sheriff’s Office tells us they went into the home, but once inside they were unable to find any evidence of a stabbing, nor anyone inside.

Major Bill Thompson of the Detectives Department at the Sheriff’s Office says this turned out to be a prank call. Officials were able to talk with the owner of the home where stabbing reportedly occurred and determined the owner had been at work all day.
