ILLINOIS (WFIE) - The smoking age could be going up in Illinois.
Some lawmakers are pushing to raise the smoking age to 21.
Measures to increase the legal age from 18 passed both chambers last year, but former governor Bruce Rauner vetoed them.
Rauner said the law wouldn’t stop teens from getting their hands on tobacco products.
Governor JB Pritzker’s spokeswoman says he looks forward to reviewing the legislation.
