Homelessness luncheon held downtown
EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - The Commission on Homelessness luncheon was held in downtown Evansville on Thursday.
Over 50 people gathered to hear about how much they've accomplished this year.
This past year has been all about diversion. Helping people in need find permanent housing first, before placing them in a shelter.
Their goal was to call people to action.
The commission's director, Matt Hanka, spoke passionately about how important it is for people to get involved and about how everyone's involvement level is different.
While some can give their time and money to this cause, there are others who just need to educate themselves on homelessness in this area.
No matter how you contribute, your contribution is needed.
