More jobs expected once TaylorMade finishes its new project

EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE) - We’ve learned even more jobs are expected to come next year once golf giant TaylorMade finishes its new project.

TaylorMade Golf Company officials announced last year that Evansville will be home to its new distribution site.

City council members approved a tax abatement to renovate and expand the warehouse on the north side.

We first reported that the 9-million-dollar project off Garrison Avenue will bring more than 50 full time jobs. Now, a spokesperson for TaylorMade tells us the new site is expected to hire 175 at peak operation by summer 2019.

We’re told while the facility is in full operation now, they’re still finishing the insulation and construction phase of a few areas inside.

They’ll also be putting up a new sign on the outside of the building, and adding a few office areas.

The site’s grand opening ceremony is in early March.
