HENDERSON, KY (WFIE) - A man is in custody after a high-speed multi-county chase.
The suspect has been identified as 24-year-old Alek A. Nelson, of Irvington, KY.
According to Kentucky State Police, the chase started late Thursday afternoon in Grayson County. The chase went through Daviess and Ohio Counties and reached speeds of 130 MPH before ending in front of Dempewolf Ford in Henderson.
We’re told troopers also had to use a taser on Nelson.
Nelson was taken Methodist Hospital in Henderson and then transferred to Owensboro Health. He is still in the hospital under guard and will be taken to Daviess Co. Detention Center after he is released.
He is facing long-list of charges in connection with the chase.
No word on why Nelson ran from police in the first place.
