Our first very warm, muggy and stagnant air mass of the year is upon us. Temperatures made it into the mid to upper 80s with heat index values well over 90 degrees. Air quality is bordering on alert status due to high levels of particulate matter.
Expect more of the same on Monday with temperatures in the upper 80s to lower 90s. Showers and thunderstorms will move in on Tuesday and the chance will linger through Thursday.
BE AWARE there is a SLIGHT RISK for strong to severe storms on Tuesday, generally west of the Wabash River, although that may be expanded a bit farther east.
