EVANSVILLE, IN (WFIE)-There'll be local sports notables such as Don Mattingly, Bob Griese and Jamey Carroll. This year's special guest will be baseball Hall of Famer Steve Carlton at the 10th Annual Hot Stove League's Night of Memories Saturday at the Vanderburgh County 4-H Center.
There'll be a terrific auction featuring some priceless memorabilia such as Super Bowl tickets from Griese and week long passes from Jeff Overton to a PGA event in Atlanta next September.
The event will also feature a new unique U.S. Mint Quarter Proof Set of the 50 States. It's valued at almost $1,000 dollars. Proceeds will be going to a good cause.
Event organizer Paul Gries is excited about helping give back. "We're gonna try to give whatever we can to the Boys and Girls Club because they have a new building," says Gries. "They have a new field that they're trying to renovate. But besides the Boys and Girls Club, there's going to be 75 to 80 youth groups that we are going to distribute money to. We don't keep a penny of it. Everything goes to charitable organizations."
