SAN ANTONIO, TX (WFIE) - Jeff Overton began the day Sunday in a five-way tie for 4th place at the Texas Open, still in the hunt for his first PGA tour win.
Trying to fight his way toward the top, on the 12th hole Overton rolled in a 20 foot putt for birdie. He got within two shots of the lead at one point.
Then, on 17, from about 40 feet away Overton dropped another long birdie putt. He shot a 5 under par 65.
The 65 was good enough for 3rd place, four shots behind the winner, Zach Johnson.
