The city of Evansville is urging the Indiana Gaming Commission to speed up Tropicana's sale of Casino Aztar.

Mayor Jonathan Weinzapfel wants regulators to abide by the March 31st agreement to prevent any further delays in the sale of the Evansville casino.

In a letter to the regulators, Mayor Weinzapfel claims "Uncertainty and delays directly affect the city in tangible ways including employment and local revenues."

El Dorado resorts had offered $245,000,000 to buy casino Aztar.

It is awaiting a ruling from the bankruptcy judge to see if Tropicana can hold a new auction.
