The American Red Cross in Evansville kicked off one of its largest blood drives of the year in a patriotic way.
The Sons of the American Revolution marched along to music as they entered the building on Stockwell Road holding flags.
Officials say donating blood is a way to support freedom and give back to the community.
"Not all of us can be overseas fighting," Emily Zander, Red Cross spokesperson, said. "But this is something we can all do for our community and to honor our service men and women."
