Two cents a mile for electric truck

It's all electric for a Henderson business owner.

Denny Branson is paying only two cents a mile to operate his company vehicle. That's because it's an electric truck, called the Zap.

"We've gotten a lot of outstanding responses," Branson said. "People are really excited to see that there's alternatives available. People that are frustrated with rising gas prices and fear that they're gonna keep going higher are really looking around to find other alternatives."

There are drawbacks to the gigantic gas savings. The vehicle's top speed is 40 mph, and that's fine when you're traveling around the city, but not so safe on highways.

Branson said it's not the most luxurious ride either.
