Unsolved Murder: Gary Clark

December 10th, 1995

Madisonville, KY

42-year-old Gary Clark of Madisonville was discovered in a wooded lot off of Curtis Mine Road approximately three miles south of Madisonville.

He died of a single gunshot wound to the head.  

The same year Clark was found dead, his brother-in-law was involved in an apparent drug ring and was arrested for shooting and killing a federal drug informant and shooting and wounding two Hopkinsville police officers.

In 2009, John Thomas Tapp, 39, of Madisonville was taken into custody after a Grand Jury returned an indictment for the murder of Gary W. Clark.

KSP officers are continuing the investigation.
