(Editor's note: The following is from a release from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet)
Almost continuous rain across the region over the weekend has left many streams running at their banks. Motorists should use appropriate caution when driving highways and roads in low-lying areas that may be subject to flooding.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District Two Operations Center reports no roads closed at this time due to high water. However, we have several spots in Hopkins County where water is over the roadway. Warning signs are up, but the following highways in Hopkins County were passable at last report:
KY 813 @ 7.2 Mile Point
KY 112 @ 8- 9 Mile Marker
KY 2340 @ 0-1 Mile Marker
U.S. 62 @16-17 Mile Marker
KY 502 @2-3 Mile Marker
KY 502 @ 4-5 Mile Marker
Again, motorists should use appropriate caution in areas where water may be over roadways. Highway maintenance crews will be out during the day on patrol in areas that may be subject to flooding.
