Joe Kiefer just turned 45 years old this month and is an At-Large member of the Evansville Common Council. Joe is serving in his 2nd term as a republican.
Joe is married to Jo Ann and they have four children. Aside from his time on the city council, Joe is the Director of Sales & Leasing for Regency Commercial Associates. Additionally, Joe holds a series three license (Commodity Trading Advisor) and an Indiana Real Estate Associate Broker's license.
During Joe's tenure on the city council, he is proud to have sponsored the Homestead Tax Credit, lobbied for eliminating lights from the Lloyd (which the state has submitted its 10 year plan to do this), and formed a nonpolitical and unbiased committee to study local government reform and the possibility of unifying the executive and legislative branches of local government. Joe is also spearheading a project to implement Citistat (a government accountability and performance measurement program) and led the effort to televise city council meetings on public television.
Joe voted for over $54 million for the 2008 budget to solve drainage and flooding problems on the south east side of Evansville and is committed to helping families and solving the drainage problem.
