Innovation Pointe to receive new façade

By Kristen Woszczynski

The Growth Alliance for Greater Evansville has chosen a new façade for Main Street's Innovation Pointe. The façade, designed by Evansville's VPS Architecture, of Innovation Pointe - a high-tech business incubator - will include a plasma monitor for event announcements and canopy-covered entrances.

"It is important that the exterior of Innovation Pointe reflects all of the great work that's going on inside the building," says Mayor Jonathan Weinzapfel, the GAGE chairman. "The façade will make Innovation Pointe a landmark along Main Street as it joins the other projects that are furthering Downtown revitalization."

Covered entrances will provide direct access to the Arts Council of Southwest Indiana's new Bower-Suhrheinrich Gallery as well as the retail/bistro space on the building's east side.

Evansville firm VPS Architecture will oversee the installation by Industrial Contractors Incorporated, and Mike Shoulders, president of VPS Architecture, told Business Watch the façade is scheduled to be completed by Dec. 1.
