4th of July Events

Do you love a big party with a bang? Join the fun this 4th of July and celebrate the old fashioned way...with fireworks, picnics and games!  Below is a list of events in your community.

Start Time: 1-4 p.m. Old National Bank's Thunder Air Show with various aerobatic and military acts, including the Canadian Forces Snowbirds demonstration team, on the Evansville river front.

Start Time:  9:30 pm  4th of July on the River Front

Start time:  6:00 pm.  This year's event will begin at 6 at the Old Lock and Dam Park, with food, music and fun kid-activities. "Larry Wicker and The Boom Boys" will light-up the night sky at about 9 o'clock.

Start Time:  11:30 am  Barbecue picnic at St. Augustine Parish (Reed)  www.visitowensboro.com

Start Time:  7:00 pm  The Owensboro Symphony Orchestra performs patriotic songs while fireworks explode over the Ohio River at English Park.  www.owensboroparks.org

Start Time:  6:00 pm   Independence Bank 4th of July Celebration, Downtown Riverfront, 202nd Army National Guard Band at 6:00pm followed by Chapel Hill Praise Band. The outstanding fireworks show will begin at 9:00pm. Food concessions will be available. Info: 270-827-0016

Start Time:  6:00 pm
Celebrate the Fourth of July downtown Vincennes.  Carnival, food vendors, parade at 5:00 pm and fireworks at dusk.  For info contact the Mayors office at 812-882-7285.

JUNE 30th:
  West Salem Fireworks not only to celebrate our nation's independence but also to celebrate West Salem's 150th Birthday. The yearly event is sponsored by the Volunteer Firemen's Association of West Salem and they always put on a great display of fireworks. The firework dispaly will begin at 9:00 p.m. in Centennial Park in West Salem. Several food vendors will be on hand at the annual event. A 50/50 raffle will be held with 50 percent of the proceeds going to the first place winner; second and third place winners will receive four Holiday World tickets; fourth place winner will receive a bicycle; fifth place winner will receive $100; and sixth place winner will receive $50 with the remaining proceeds to benefit the Volunteer Firemen's Association of West Salem.
