Sunday kicked off the annual Little Sisters of the Poor cash raffle. This year marks the 125 year the Little Sisters have been caring for the elderly poor in Evansville.
Every year, the raffle serves as a huge fundraiser for the home, and, due to the age of their building, they are in need of many new renovations.
Julie Welch, development director, says, "Events like this really help the home; the money stays right here in Evansville. It goes towards the care of the aging poor. It's just a huge thing to help the Little Sisters continue their ministry to the Tri-State."
Tickets are $100 each; only 4,000 will be sold.
