Hundreds of people attended a memorial service at Rupp Arena Sunday night, for the victims of Comair Flight 5191.
It was two weeks ago Sunday that the plane crashed near Blue Grass Airport, killing 49 people. One person who attended, Eva Ayer, says the Comair crash reminded her of a "mini 9/11" because of the way it's brought the city together.
The August 27th regional jet crash was the worst American plane disaster in nearly five years. She says like that tragedy, like the plane crash in Lexington, has brought people together.
Lexington Mayor Teresa Isaac and Governor Ernie Fletcher also attended the service.
Only one person survived the crash, the flight's co-pilot, James Polehinke. He could be hospitalized for several more weeks with his injuries.
