UPDATE, WED, 9:00 AM: The Henderson Police Department is investigating suspicious circumstances surrounding the rescue of a man from the Ohio River.
Officials say 53-year-old Edward Allen Boles jumped off the CSX train bridge at the Third Street boat ramp in Henderson.
Boles was rescued a short time later, by Henderson police and City-County Rescue Squad, Perry Township Rescue Squad and barge pilots on the river.
Boles was taken to Methodist Hospital and is now in intensive care.
Previously: A man is safe Wednesday morning, thanks to efforts by local rescue workers overnight.
Officials say they got a call just before midnight, that a man was on the railroad bridge over the Ohio River - and fell in.
Henderson police, Perry Township Rescue Squad and barge pilots on the river joined with the Henderson City-County Rescue Squad to search for the man.
After about an hour, he was pulled-out a mile downstream from the railroad bridge and taken to Methodist Hospital.
Henderson police are investigating this incident and will speak to the man after he receives treatment.
So far, there's no word on the man's identity.
