Investigation: Officials Interview KY Miners

State officials will begin interviewing 25 mine employees Wednesday, as part of their investigation into the May 20th explosion at an eastern Kentucky coal mine.

The families of the five miners killed in the explosion will also be able to submit written questions, as part of the state's investigation.

The attorney for widows of two of the men killed had asked Governor Fletcher to be a part of the interview process.

The US Mine Safety and Health Administration has advised state investigators to stay out of Kentucky Darby Mine Number One, until the area is properly ventilated.

Three of the miners killed in the explosion died from carbon monoxide poisoning.
