Life Skills: Rescue Mission Expands Program

The Evansville Rescue Mission is expanding its mission to the Goosetown neighborhood.

A vacant building at Sixth and Chandler will be turned into one-bedroom apartments. The tenants will be men who have completed two years of coursework in the Life Skills program, and will live there as they complete their education or vocational training.

Steve Perry of the Evansville Rescue Mission says, "This will give them the basic tools that they need, to live anywhere in Evansville, and across the country."

Perry says it will take about two-years to renovate the building, and he's hoping for donations from the community to get the job done.
